La team FERROX présente, par le biais de l'un de ces membres : Alexander, un ensemble de Custom Firmware basé sur le nouveau firmware 4.66 de Sony. Plusieurs versions sont disponibles : une version BD Edition (nécessitant donc un lecteur BD fonctionnel), une version NO BD Edition (à utiliser si le lecteur BD est HS), ainsi qu'un firmware à utiliser en double boot (à utiliser avec un CFW en parallèle). Enfin, une version Cobra Lite est disponible. Avec cette version Lite, le support des ISOs PS2 and PSP a été supprimé. Les jeux PS3 et PSX sont pris en charge. Pour le reste, toutes les fonctions Cobra sont présentes.
Recommandation des auteurs : Il est recommandé, après une installation réussie d'un custom firmware, de faire les actions suivantes :
- Settings> [System Settings]> [Restore Default Settings]. (From the XMB)
- Restore File System (Recovery)
- Rebuild Database (Recovery)

Comment installer ce CFW
L'installation de ce CFW doit être fait exclusivement depuis le mode Recovery. Retirez tous disques présent dans la PS3.
Une fois l'installation terminée, retournez dans le mode Recovery, et restaurez la base de donnée et le système de fichier.
